Ronald Frederick Harris

The family of Ronald Harris of Keremeos, BC, is saddened to announce his passing. Ron passed away on February 18, 2024, at the age of 74 years after a valiant effort.

Ron is remembered and sadly missed by his loving wife, Linda; children Marnie (Adam) Todd of Keremeos, Geoff Harris of Penticton, and Mike (Kathleen) Harris of Abbotsford; grandchildren, Vanessa, Kassidy, Maxwell, Casey, and Olivia; sisters, Kathy (Bruce) Harker of Cawston and Judy Egli of Keremeos.

He is predeceased by his sister, Marilyn, and parents, Fred and Louise.

Ron was born in Princeton and spent his life in Keremeos running the family business. "Digger" went to business school in 1968 in Vancouver and became reacquainted with his longtime friend, classmate, and future wife, Linda, who was also attending school. They eventually returned to Keremeos and married in 1971, where they ran the business, raised three kids, and stayed active in the community. This included Ron being a member of the volunteer fire department, Lions Club, and Royal Canadian Legion. He was an incredibly hard worker, secretly generous, and champion of the underdog. He had immense pride in his family and business, he treasured all of his friends, and he would have given the shirt off his back for any of them.

A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held in the summer of 2024.
